This is Sanriku wakame, harvested from the Sanriku region of northern Japan - a region with an exceptional natural environment that produces the tastiest, chewiest wakame on the market. Thanks to Sanriku's pure waters, with low levels of bacteria and contaminants, it provides the perfect conditions for growing the finest wakame seaweed.
This is cut and dried wakame seaweed, which expands considerably when re-hydrated - so a little goes a long way!

Rehydrate wakame by putting it in a bowl, covering with water, and allowing it to stand for 3 to 5 minutes before draining. You can add rehydrated wakame to soups, salads, or stir fries.
It’s also recommended to put dried wakame directly into your soup without rehydrating first, and allow it to rehydrate with the flavorful broth.

I have a love/hate with seaweed and I feel like this solved my problem. It is a tad on the salty side, but you are not overwhelmed by the scent nor flavor. It is a perfect compliment to miso or just a nice snack on the side.
